The audition process is in two parts:
- First, everyone will send in their recorded audition materials by the submission deadline of Sunday, January 8th. Recorded materials will be reviewed blind. We will be making callback decisions on a rolling basis, so feel free to submit early to receive early callback notice.
- Then, based on the recordings we receive, we will hold in-person callbacks on Sunday, January 29th from 2pm to 8pm. Singers who are being called back will receive notice and further information by January 15th at the latest, but early submissions will receive notice earlier. Those singers called back will not need to prepare any additional solos.

CLICK HERE to fill out the audition form. You will also upload TWO music clips of yourself–one “classical/choral” piece, and one “contemporary/pop/jazz/musical theater” piece–with the following requirements:
- The two clips can be either video with audio, or audio-only (no video)– it’s up to you. Please include your first and last name in the file titles (example: JohnDoeClip1.mov).
- Each clip must be 45-60 seconds long.
- One clip must be more classical/choral. We want to hear clear singing with good technique in a traditional style piece. (Example: “Sure on this Shining Night” by Samuel Barber)
- The other clip must be more contemporary/pop/jazz/musical theater. Pick a piece that inspires you! We want to hear your personal musical style in this clip. (Example: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”)
- One of the clips must be a self-recorded, one-take, live recording of either “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” or “Sure on this Shining Night” from your phone/device with no edits or audio enhancements. The song must be a cappella, and you must use your phone’s camera (if video) or voice memo app (if audio) to record it. The song can be performed in the key of your choice; whatever is most comfortable for your voice range.
- The other clip is a song of your choice. This clip can be from a previously-recorded live performance, in-studio recording, or video recorded within the last 5 years. This clip can have instruments and/or background vocals, but your voice should be clear and in the forefront of the sound. The song selection is up to you, but you may not submit a clip of “Sure on this Shining Night” or “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” If you do not have a pre-recorded clip to use, feel free to self-tape a song of your choice using your phone.
- If you submit a song of your choice in a contemporary style, the other clip must be a live, self-taped version of “Sure on this Shining Night”
- If you submit a song of your choice in a classical style, the other clip must be a live, self-taped version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”
In summary, you must choose one of the following two options:
